    2Opener [2004]

Superstar producer/mixer Sean Beavan co-founded 8MM and quietly
self-released their debut EP, Opener, through their website while he was
producing UNWRITTEN LAW's "Here's To The Mourning" in 2004. Fronted by his wife, Juliette, who has been described as a cross between Billie Holiday and Jessica Rabbit, 8MM quickly became a local underground buzz. Internet
word-of-mouth led to tremendous organic support followed by global critical
acclaim from artists and tastemakers such as the influential Nic Harcourt of

After inking a deal with IODA Digital Distribution, 8MM made their exclusive
iTunes debut in October 2004. Catching the attention of the legendary Marc
Geiger and Rob Markus of the William Morris Agency, they made a rare
exception to represent the unsigned band, debuting them in London to rave
    reviews in April 2005.

Consistently maintaining the #1 position on the myspace's Trip Hop, Down
Tempo and Nu Jazz charts throughout 2005, the LA Times named 8MM a Buzz Band in March. Music supervisors took note and following a string of television placements, 8MM made their cinematic debut on the much-anticipated "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" soundtrack with their sultry version of the James Bond classic, "Nobody Does It Better."

The EP was championed by satellite, internet and terrestrial radio around
the world, which prompted an invitation to play in Chile in July 2005.
Based on the buzz, The Metro co-sponsored the dates, hanging huge floor to ceiling posters in terminals, along with 3'x2' posters on trains. TV, radio,
major newspapers, fashion and music magazines followed suit and 8MM were literally mobbed after every show. "Give It Up" and "Never Enough" were on heavy rotation on major stations weeks before and after their visit.

The formation of 8mm began when Producer Sean Beavan had just one day to record backing vocals on KILL HANNAH's album following the band's last
minute decision to add female vocals to one of the key tracks. After
exhausting his rolodex looking for an available singer he turned to the only
woman in the room, his wife Juliette. He had never heard her sing a note
but he needed a voice. When Juliette began to sing, Sean and the engineer, Critter were blown away.her delivery was beautiful, vulnerable and sexy. Sean thought that her voice would benefit two more KILL HANNAH tracks and the band agreed. The seeds were sown for what was to become 8MM. Teaming up with Sean's longtime manager, Shannon O'Shea, who is also known as Garbage's innovative founding manager, they embraced new technology to formulate a global strategy.
