AboutAṣa (pronounced "Asha") is a Nigerian French singer and songwriter. Her stage name means "Hawk" in the Nigerian language Yoruba.
She met her manager and friend Janet in 2004, who introduced her to Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo - her future musical partner and producer. Soon after this she moved back from Nigeria to Paris (where she was born) and signed to Naïve Records. With the new involvement of Christophe Dupouy, Aṣa released her first album (self-titled). She went on to release three more albums (as of 2014).
