AboutNobody really knows what the name means.
Beau (bass) saw it on a box in some warehouse and thought it looked cool,
so he told Matt, Spencer and Caleb and they all agreed on the name.
And this is how the story begins, Abbington was formed in 2003 through
a group of mutual long term friends in Kansas City.
Caleb, Beau, and Spencer have been friends from as far back as 1994;
they met Matt at a concert in 2000.
They all shared a common passion for music, and at the time were all
currently in other bands. Needless to say the other projects fell apart and
Abbington was born. Abbington is a hook driven, melodic rock band out of
Kansas City , they have shared the stage with such bands as.
"Local H, Sonic Flood, Kids in the Way, Everyday Sunday, Hawk Nelson,
Sky Harbor, BLEACH, Star Flyer 59, the Party People, Man Alive, Map,
Flick, the Kick, One-21, and Cool Hand Luke" Abbington was also featured
on the New Band Showcase stage at CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL in 2004
as well as being Chosen out of thousands of bands to play on the
Ernie Ball stage at the Warped Tour in 2005. "England" and "Your Heart"
have been played regularly on the 96.5 the BUZZ's (Kansas City)
"home grown buzz" show on Sunday nights and "Take Control" is played
regularly on 105.9 the lazer's (Lawrence, KS) local show as well.
Abbington is made up of Caleb Kuhl on guitar/vocals; Matt Anzalone on
lead guitar; Beau Smith on bass and Jonathan Dimmel on drums.
