AboutAmaranthe is a Swedish/Danish power/melodic death metal band that originates from Sweden and Denmark. Formed by Jake E and Olof Morck, the project began taking shape when singers Elize Ryd and Andy Solvestrom signed on, as did drummed Morten Lowe. Tthe band released a demo on their MySpace profile, titeled "Leave Everything Behind". This 4-song demo was released in 2008.
In 2009, the band changed their name from Avalanche to Amaranthe due to legal issues.
They now, 2011, have released one album called "Amaranthe" wich was released the 13th of April 2011.
