The Au Go Go Singers was a folk group formed in the summer of 1964, in New York City. The band members were Roy Michaels, Fred Geiger, Jean Gurney and Mike Scott, who had been the Bay Singers; Richie Furay, Nels Gustafson and Bob Harmelink, who were performing as the Three Monks; Stephen Stills; and Kathy King. They became the house group at the Cafe Au Go Go, which is how they got the name.
