    Boule Noire (real name Georges Thurston) was born on December 29, 1951 in Bedford, Canada. Abandoned by his parents, he grew up in Saint-Jérôme. In 1965, he joined a R&B band, Les Zinconnus. In 1968, he went solo & played drums, guitar & piano for Canadian artists Robert Charlebois, Claude Dubois & Nanette Workman. In 1975, Georges became Boule Noire & the following year, his single "Aimes-Tu La Vie ?" has been his first hit. In 1979, his biggest hit has been "Aimer D'Amour", French version of Leo Sayer's "Easy To Love". The album, with the same name, sold 100,000 copies.
    In 1986, he represented Québec at the International Festival Of Music in Los Angeles & appeared as a backing vocalist, in the collective song "Les Yeux De La Faim". In 2000, Georges hosted a radio show, "Les Années Boomers". In February 2006, he learnt that he had colon cancer, recorded his last album Last Call... Dernier Rappel & in October 2006, he got married. He died on June 18, 2007 in Montréal, at 55 years old.
