"From small things, big things one day come." With the seemingly immortal words of Bruce Springsteen etched in their minds the members of the Spokane, Washington-based band Coretta Scott have set out to see how far they can take this always fleeting dream called rock and roll. The five members that make up Coretta Scott hail from an eclectic mix of backgrounds up to and including punk, radio rock, country and metal music backgrounds. Originally coming together under the moniker "The Widow Jenkins," the band now known as Coretta Scott possesses the perfect mix of youthful drive and experienced wisdom. Taking broken dreams of the past and throwing them aside, the members of Coretta Scott plan to make something happen from a northwestern city that is not exactly known for its musical success stories. Playing to packed houses at large venues such as the Big Easy, The Met and Club Soda, Coretta Scott has established itself as one of the top draws in its hometown. Factor in a largely successful month-long headlining tour in May-June of 2004 and you have one of areas most active and recognizable bands. Armed with an unmatched work ethic, the band looks to have a bright future. Look for Coretta Scott touring through your town. Their debut record, SCREAM AND SHOUT, hits stores on August 23rd, 2005 through Rise/Victory Records.
