David Christie (real name Jacques Pépino) was born on January 1, 1948 in Tarare, France & died on May 14, 1997 in Capbreton, France.
In 1965, Jacques moved to Paris & started his career as a singer-songwriter. At the same time, Jacques became David Christie & also composed songs under the pseudonyms James Bolden & Philippe Tarare. In 1973, after having performed "Notre Premier Enfant" at La Rose D'Or in Antibes, he moved to Antony, where he settled a recording studio.
In 1974, his daughter Nathalie was born. From 1975, most of David Christie's songs have been co-written by lyricist Jack Robinson, like Napoleon Jones' "I Love To Love (But My Baby Loves To Dance)", covered by Tina Charles in 1976. He also had a disco career until the 80's.
In 1997, he committed suicide at 49 years old, because he had lost the child he had with Nina Morato.
