AboutDavid Hallyday (real name David Michael Benjamin Smet) is a French composer, drummer, guitarist, pianist & singer, born on August 14, 1966 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Son of Sylvie Vartan & Johnny Hallyday, David started his musical career with "He's My Girl", from the film with the same name. In 1988, he released his debut album True Cool, that included his first N°1 hit "High". In 1989, he married Estelle Lefébure & in 1990, his second album Rock'N'Heart came out, including the 3 singles "Ooh La La", "Tears Of The Earth" & "About You". In 1992, he released his first live album On The Road, recorded at Paris' Cigale. The following year, he joined his father on stage at Paris' Parc des Princes. In 1994, David joined the band Blindfish.
In 1999, his first French album Un Paradis, Un Enfer came out, including the 3 singles "Tu Ne M'As Pas Laissé Le Temps" (his second N°1 hit), "Pour Toi" & "Le Manque À Donner". In 2002, encouraged by success, David released Révélation, which only single has been "Repenses-Y Si Tu Veux". He also released "Un Homme Libre", from the cartoon "Treasure Planet".
In 2004, David released his third French album Satellite, including the 3 singles "Le Défi", "Satellite" & "Plus Me Passer De Toi". 3 years later, his self-titled album came out, composed by David & written by, among others, Miossec (he wrote "Tendre Est La Nuit").
In 2010, David released his album Un Nouveau Monde, including the singles "On Se Fait Peur" (duet with his half-sister Laura Smet) & "Le Cœur Qui Boite".
