AboutDerek Teague Band is a fresh sound and new project from west Texas that has accelerated and expanded in a very short time. They were able to record their first EP with Producer Sylvia Massy of RadioStar Studios in Northern California. Sylvia has previously produced bands such as TOOL, The Black Crowes, Johnny Cash, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and several more. Some of the musicians in DTB have toured across Russia and Europe, the West Coast and all over the state of Texas as well as surrounding states. Some have shared the stage with many nationally known acts. They have also played in large events such as South by Southwest and the Buddy Holly Music Fest. There is a passion and a mutual interest behind the bond these musicians have constructed and it is the music and only the music behind the force that drives them.
Before DTB was constructed they spent a lot of years playing cover shows. They covered anything from Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Classic Country, Modern Country, Americana, Texas Country, Blues, Grunge and Alternative . Even now as the Derek Teague Band they adapt to whatever the environment demands. DTB is a simple yet effective trio of acoustic guitar, drums, and keyboard. Their sound has been compared to anything from Ray LaMontagne to Jack Johnson. Out of San Angelo, Texas, Derek Teague, Jimmy Shanks, and Tyler Jay Shockley are currently traveling across the state to deliver outstanding performances for a guaranteed good listen. DTB plans to return to Northern California in late 2011 to record their second EP with Sylvia Massy.
