My name is Elissa, I am TwentyOne years old.
My story is nothing particuarly new, i starting learning the piano at six and singing not long after that, the real story is in the songs i write themselves... I have been songwriting for about ten or so years now and I write about the things that refuse to leave my head...
This is what you hear in my words. Everything is real. For me, writing was and still is an escape and a release like no other, whether it be songs about love and all that falls inbetween, soul searching, friendship or dealing with obstacles in life; my biggest highs come from turning something painful or difficult into something beautiful and tanglible that others can understand and absorb into their own personal situations. That link between songs and people is the most raw and brings the most purpose to my life.
Having played in all the top London venues alone with my piano or accompanied with the cello, since my teenage years (notably;The Bedford, Cobden Club, Sound Cafe, Notting Hill arts club, The Regal Rooms, 333 Bar, Joogleberry and Komedia in Brighton & of course most recently the Astoria) I am now playing with a full band and have recently released my debut e.p called 'Touch' -see the link below for the shop to purchase it!- Most recently I have recorded a new batch of material which will soon be available on itunes, I have also featured on the 'You me at six' album, Take off your colours on the track 'Always attract' and am looking to collaborate with other bands! I no longer believe in limitations, battling yourself, or adapting to fit someone elses 'vision' and I still LOVE playing live and meeting/communicating with people that enjoy my music so please get in touch, or simply take in the music and live videos posted and updated here on myspace.
