The Equinox ov the Gods first saw the light of day back in 1990. The band was formed by Fredrik Wallin and Melker Ryymin with the vision to create music unaffected to time and trends. The name was taken from a book written by the infamous Brittish poet/occultist Aleister Crowley.

The first demo, entitled "Songs from the Hill of the Heartless Giant", was released 1992. This early recording was followed by the demos "Watch the Shadows Dance" (1993) and "This Sombre Dreamland" (1994). During this period the line-up was changed a couple of times. However the core consisting of the founding members remained intact.

In 1995, the band established contact with the Greek company Unisound Records LTD which resulted in participating in the compilation CD "Into the Cathacthonium" along with Mortuary Drape and Rotting Christ among others.

The partnership continued and the first The Equinox ov the Gods record was made; "Images of Forgotten Memories" (1996). The same year, Unisound released a vinyl only picturedisc of "Images..." It contained remixed songs like "N.L.S.", "Lord of the Crossroads" and "Resurrected".

"Fruits and Flowers of the Spectral Garden" was released in November 1997, still at Unisound Records. A month later, the first stock was sold out. This album featured tracks like "the Witches Rune" (an interpretation of a part from Shakespeare's MacBeth), "Stigmata" and "the Spectral Garden".

In August 1998 the band decided to leave the Greek label for the Swedish label Heathendoom Music, and after some negotiating, they finally signed a deal for one CD in October 1998. The CD entitled "Where Angels Dare Not Tread" was recorded during the spring of 1999 but due to misfortune (and a record label which run out of money) the album is yet to be released...
