AboutFefe Dobson is a Juno nominated Toronto-based songstress who brokered demo recordings and a series of solid industry showcases into a deal with Island/Def Jam, which issued her self-titled debut album, Fefe Dobson in October 2003. The album showcased Dobson's brassy vocals over a pop-alternative, radio-ready groove skating between styles and incorporating plenty of electric guitar dynamics. For her part, the then 18-year-old cited vocal and songwriting influences ranging from Judy Garland to Kurt Cobain.
As lead single Take Me Away began to make noise online and at radio, Dobson participated in "Camplified 2003", a tour of East Coast youth camps that also featured then fellow up-and-comer, Skye Sweetnam.

Her videos for TMA and Everything became hits on MTV's popular music chart TRL. She was also popular on the show making multiple appearances in the studio as guest as well as a co-host. In Feburary 2004, she was awarded the title of 'Best New Artist' on 2nd Annual TRL Awards.

She was nominated for two Juno awards in '05 for 'Album of the Year' and 'New Artist Of the Year.'

After gaining recognition in the US, she started working on her second album 'Sunday Love.' The first official single off the album was Don't Let It Go To Your Head which was released in July 2005 accompanied with music video. Despite being a catchy uptempo number, the single failed to make impact on charts. The second single decided was This Is My Life and after several foward dates, the release for the album was abruptly cancelled and Dobson parted ways with Island records in the summers of 2006.

Despite being dropped from her record label, the optimistic Dobson has dilligently worked on her next music. She co-wrote a song for Miley Cyrus' second album called Start All Over. Her third album and technically second was also on its finishing touches.

Some of Dobson's songs have been covered by other artists such as American Idol sixth season winner Jordin Sparks with Don't Let It Go To Your Head for her second studio album, Battlefield [2009]. And As A Blonde covered by Selena Gomez (with her then formed band Selena Gomez & The Scene) for her debut album, Kiss & Tell [2009].

During the four years of writing, label pushbacks with changes of music direction, she eventually did resign to Island Records which resulted to Fefe's official second studio album, Joy being released on November 22, 2010 with three Top 20 Canadian chart singles - Ghost, Stuttering and Can't Breathe.
