Her Space Holiday is the brainchild of Audio Information Phenomena label owner Marc Bianchi. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Marc started his musical career playing in well known hard core bands (Indian Summer, Mohinder and Calm). After a couple years of enduring the unfulfilling "band life", Marc decided to trade in the smoky club atmosphere for an intimate home recording environment. Since 1996, Marc has been writing and recording music under the alias of Her Space Holiday.

After releasing a handful of EP's on a slew of underground labels, Her Space Holiday signed to the New York based Tiger Style Records in 2000. Which in turn lead to a licensing deal in Europe with Wichita Recordings (also home to Bright Eyes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, My Morning Jacket and Ruby). The release of "Home Is Where You Hang Yourself" marked the beginning of a new era for Her Space Holiday. The once recluse side project become a full time outfit. Constant touring, which included stints both nationally and internationally with such bands as Bright Eyes, Bob Mould, Pinback, American Analog Set, Arab Strap, etc, and continuous remix work for artists such as REM, Bright Eyes, Elastica, The Faint, etc.. And the production of the follow up record "Manic Expressive" left little time for for a normal life.

So Marc and then girlfriend/tour mate Keely decided to trade in the Bay Area for the laid back atmosphere of Austin, Texas. After a few months of rest and relaxation, work began on the latest Her Space Holiday effort "The Young Machines". Upon completion of the new record, it was obvious to all parties involved that it was time for a change, both professionally and personally. Which led to Her Space Holiday leaving Tiger Style after a solid three year run, and signing with Mush Records in the Spring of 2003. Armed with a slightly more realized sound, and a renewed sense of optimism, Her Space Holiday sets out to start the second chapter of their story.
