    A Beautiful End [2009]


    J. R. Richards (born 30 April, 1967) is the former lead singer/songwriter for alternative rock band Dishwalla. He has appeared in the films Almost Anything, 2:13 and Morning (which he also scored) and he guest starred on Charmed as himself. Richards also sang the title role in a concert production of Jesus Christ Superstar with the Golden State Pops Orchestra. Dishwalla had a #1 hit in 1996 with the Richards-penned "Counting Blue Cars," famous for its "tell me all your thoughts on God/'cause I'd really like to meet Her" refrain. Dishwalla produced four other albums with J.R. Richards as lead singer & main songwriter, including the 2002 hit, Opaline. J.R left the band officially in 2008 but had played his last show with Dishwalla in 2005. In 2008 Justin Fox took over J.R.'s role as Dishwalla's lead singer. Dishwalla has yet to release a record under the Dishwalla moniker since J.R. Richards left. He has one child.

    His debut solo album "A Beautiful End" was released on May 12, 2009, and debuted in the Top 50 on iTunes worldwide.

    J.R. Richards is creating music under the name theGloriouslove, in partnership with Jason Koiter and Trace Ritter. Starting May 4, 2010, "A Dark Safe Place", the first song from this project, will be available through digital download.

    J.R. Richards is also creating music under the name Califas with Ryan Rossi. Starting May 18, 2010, "A Beautiful Game," a 2010 World Cup theme song will be available through digital download.

    There is another collaboration with Michael Carey and David Walsh from the band Exies. Starting June 1, 2010, three songs will be released, "Monday Came", "Sunlight" and "Sugarville".

    In January 2011, J.R Richards created the 20k Watts project along with Leo and Ryan Rossi. 20k Watts is an Artist Eco Alliance which aims to bring sustainable clean energy to 3rd world communities in need. To empower communities in impoverished areas using the sun, wind, and battery for storing and supplying electricity and enhancing the current and future quality of life. J.R. Has been producing since the 90's and along with Dishwalla has gone on to produce other artists: Dom AD / Amy Grant/ BritRoyal / as well as his own Solo Record released in 2009; J.R Richards has just finished producing British group 'BritRoyal's Debut EP (along with producer Mikal Blue) and recently attended the 2012 Brit Awards at the O2 Arena in London, England.

    J.R is also Co-Owner of REID-RICHARDS (an artist production company) along with Min Reid.
