Jeff Lorber is a Jazz musician, who plays the piano keyboard, he is known for his Synthesizer Jazz music, He formed a Jazz group called Jeff Lorber Fusion. He's also known for writing romantic love songs for Guest singers. He also combines Jazz music with rock and R&B. His well known Jazz-rock songs are "Private Passion", "Say Love", "Back in Love" Also his instrumental music is often played on The Weather Channel like Underwraps, Gigabytes, Sand Castles, Tropical and many more.

Jeff Lorber was born on November 4, 1952 in Philadelphia USA, in a Jewish family. He started to play the piano when he was just 4 years old. He would continue to play the piano even during his teenage years. He was inspired by Jazz musicians like Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Weather Report. He also joined R&B groups during High School. Later on he favored Jazz music and eventually went to college called Berklee College of Music and there he studied Jazz music. During this time he played with a guitarist named John Scofield. Also he studied chemistry.

In 1977 Jeff Lorber moved to Porland, Oregon USA. There he formed a Jazz group called the Jeff Lorber Fusion. he worked for the music company called Inner City. He had a group of Jazz musicians including a drummer Dennis Bradford. His first record album was Jeff Lorber Fusion which became an instant hit among jazz fans. He also toured around North America. He also released other Jazz Record albums including "Soft Space", "Water Sign", "Wizard Island" which paved the way for Kenny G to pursue a music carrier, then he released his final album "Galaxian" and then the Jeff Lorber Fusion broke up and Jeff Lorber went on a solo Jazz music carrier.

In 1982 Jeff Lorber worked for the music company Arista. He released his first solo Jazz album cassette called "It's a Fact" which included guest singers. Then in 1984 he released the album "In the Heat of the Night" following his successful CD album "Step by Step" which made it in the R&B billboard charts. 1986 was also a successful year for Jeff Lorber. In 1986 Jeff Lorber worked for Warner Bros music company for his CD album "Private Passion" It introduced guest singers Michael Jeffries, and Karyn White who sang "Facts of Love", "True Confessions" and "Back in Love" which was in the MTV video and she later did her R&B solo carrier. It also reached the billboard charts. After his album release Jeff Lorber took a seven year break and would not play music until 1993.

In 1993 Jeff Lorber release his CD album "Worth Waiting for" with the song "Lost with You", in 1994 he made his CD album "West side Stories" with the guest singer Eric Benet who sang "Say Love" and "Bring it on" in "State of Grace. Jeff Lorber made other albums including "Midnight". Then Jeff Lorber released his 2001 CD album "Kickin it".

Jeff Lorber contributed his music to the Playstation 1 game Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Then Jeff Lorber released his CD albums of "The Definitive Collection" and "The Best of Jeff Lorber." Which featured his past Jazz songs. Then in 2003 he released his CD album "Philly Style" He then contributed music to a CD album "Shades of Soul"

In 2004 Jeff Lorber was diagnosed with a Kidney disease and received a successful Kidney Transplant from his wife. He also spoke out against the Kidney disease at the PKD Foundation. After his recovery he made CD albums like "Flipside" 2005, "He had a Hat" with the Bill Withers song "Grandmas Hands", "Heard That", "Now is the time" and many more Jazz albums.

Today Jeff Lorber is still going on Jazz tours in North America at this time playing his electric keyboard.
