AboutJosé James is an American baritone jazz singer, born on January 20, 1978 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He achieved much success after DJ Gilles Peterson signed him to his new independent label Brownswood Recordings in the early 2000s.
He has also recorded tracks for other artists, most notably Italian musician and producer Nicola Conte, on his album Rituals (2008). Also a shared project, together with Jef Neve, on album For All We Know (2010).
