AboutKid Courageous have been together for 3 years and all hail from Sydney's Sutherland Shire. Fronted by enigamatic lead singer and classically trained pianist Mick Anderson with Huw Griffiths (guitar & BV's), Laurent Saligne (drums), Patrick Ricapito (lead guitar) & Dave Simon (bass).
Kid Courageous have been named 'The Most Electrifying Punk Band TO Set Foot On Australian Stage' and now under the management of Vicki Gordon 2005 is gearing up to be an exciting year for the boys.
In late October 2004 Kid Courageous performed to over 300 radio MD's and PD's at the new music 2 radio showcase along side some of Australia's top emerging artists including Sarah Blasko, Eran James and Tammin Sursok. Their infectious mix of pop piano punk, high-energy performance and unique musicianship stole the show with James Manning (publisher media week) reffering to them as: "The Most Exciting Commercial Prospect...From The Best Ever Line-Up"
In late December 2004 the boys spent 2 weeks in the studio recording 3 singles with merican producer Rick Will (Incubus, No Doubt & Ben Harper). Their debut single, a cover of Joe Jackson's is 'Is She Really Going Out With Him', was mastered in LA by Stephen Marcussen (REM).
KC recently caught up with Gary Sanford (guitar on the original version) who joined the boys for a performance on mornings with Kerri-Anne. (Channel 9) January saw the boys shoot the clip for 'Is She Really Going Out With Him?' featuring Bec Cartwright (Home & Away) and the sandman. Bec agreed to appear in the clip after seeing KC Wow A VIP Entertainment Industry Crowd An Exclusive Sydney Club.
In February Kid Courageous released their debut single to media receiving an overwhelming response. In week one it was the #4 most added track to raio in Australia, #1 most added at nights and instantly added to MTV, Channel V, Video Hits & Rage, the song held the #1 most played position at nights for 6 weeks with 50 Cent at #2.
'Is She' was released on April 4th and debuted in The Aria singles chart at #30 and peaking at #25. Not bad company with Green Day at #24 (their highest position) & Avril on #27!
Kid Courageous are currently in the studio with Rick Will completing their debut album scheduled for release in Australia late September 2005.
Their second single, 'Life's A Movie' is scheduled for release July 11th
