AboutLola... Érase una vez (Lola ... Once Upon A Time) is a Mexican telenovela (soap opera) produced by Televisa, the telenovela is a remake of the worldwide famous argentine telenovela "Floricienta" from 2004. It debuted February 26, 2007, starring Aaron Diaz and Eiza Gonzalez. It currently airs on XHGC-TV at 8PM.
The series, produced by Pedro Damian and originally created by Cris Morena (who also produced Rebelde) , portrays the fictional life of a modern Cinderella called Lola Valente, who resides in Mexico City, as a part-time worker on the Von Ferdinand mansion. Lola...Erase Una Vez includes the songs as Si Me Besas (the show's main theme) Espiral, Princesa and Sapo Azul, among others. Gonzales was nominated for Best New Artist at the Premios Oye!, alongside Jesse & Joy and Maria Jose.
A Lola... Érase Una Vez magazine for teenagers is now published monthly, since April 2007.
Plot
This is the romantic and amused history of Lola, a modern Cinderella, rebel and optimistic, that does not hope or wait crossed of arms that a fairy godmother fixes her problems with her magic, but that goes out to the world to look for the happiness by herself. Her greatest joy is to sing and to dance with the musical group that she has formed with its friends. To Lola, no work intimidates her. Without having experience, the Von Ferdinand hire her as an assistant of the nanny "Petra Singrid von Beethoven" in the enormous mansion, and after fighting with a few pranks, her vibrant personality gains the affection and the confidence of the little devils that she has to take care of: Otto of 8 years, Boris of 12, Marion of 14, and the twins Archie and Marcus of 17 years. The prince of the story is Alexander, the oldest of the Von Ferdinand. Nevertheless, this prince which less looks for is to fall in love. Due to the tragic death of his father in an accident, Alexander has had to leave his studies of his masters and his dreams, to be in charge of his brothers and of the businesses of the family. His heart is closed to the love and the joy, and his biggest headache is the revolt of his brothers. The boys discover that Lola leaves without permission to sing with his group and they force her to take them with her. The young people find in music the emotion and the freedom that they needed in their rigid education, and with the aid of Lola they form their own musical group. But Lola's life complicates, because in all good story it cannot lack the bad witch, and this paper corresponds to Montserrat, the evil godmother of Alexander, one evil woman whose biggest ambition is to marry him with her biggest daughter, Carlota, to seize of the fortune of the Von Ferdinand, and her main obstacle is Lola, reason why she is determined to destroy her. Lola... Érase Una Vez, is a beautiful history for the young people and their families, a modern fairy tale, but filled with music, joy, emotion, optimism and, mainly, love.

controversy arose when they asked Pedro Damian if Mexican singer Belinda would be eligible to play the role of Lola Valente; question to which he answered saying that Belinda had no charisma. Belinda responded to this in an interview which can be viewed on youtube. The actress who landed this role is Eiza Gonzalez.
