Lorie (real name Laure Pester) is a French actress & singer, born on May 2, 1982 in Le-Plessis-Bouchard, France. At 3, she started dancing & at 6, she started ice-skating. She released her debut single "Baby Boum" in 1998 but it was unsuccessful. Thanks to her father Dominique Pester, Lorie met producer Johnny Williams in September 2000. She recorded the song "Près De Moi" & Johnny put the song on the Internet website peoplesound.fr. 15,000 people downloaded this song ! Fabrice Nataf, head of the site, contacted Sony Music & Lorie signed to Sony Music in November 2000.

On May 2, 2001, the day of her 19th birthday, Lorie released her debut major single, "Près De Moi". The video was shot in Miami Beach, FL.
