Marc Broude (born August 23, 1984) is an independent musician whose work encompasses dark ambient, experimental noise, industrial, post-rock and punk rock. Broude began in 2005 while residing in a collective of musicians, artists, and squatters in Chicago. In 2006 he formed the crust punk group Ed Gein Motherfucker and a black metal group Zog. Zog consisted of Broude on bass, Chris Anderson and Eric Sepata on guitars, and Danny Cortez on drums; the band released a four-song EP, "Revive", but proved short-lived when Cortez died ten months after the group was launched. In 2006 Broude released "Psychological Warfare" b/w "God Smacker", co-produced by Judson Leach and distributed exclusively through Broude's own label, NoZen Records. "Psychological Warfare" earned enthusiastic reviews despite being released only as a 7" single in a limited edition of 50 copies. Broude took a break from music in 2007, but returned the following year, performing a one-off live collaboration with noise Lasse Marhaug. In 2009 Broude released "Rites of Zen", a 76-minute ambient piece. An avant-garde jazz album, "Medicine" followed. In 2010 Broude co-released "Medicine/Vespertine: A Tragedy in Several Tones of Grey" with the Belgian dark ambient artist Sequences. In 2011, Broude reissued "Psychological Warfare" as a free digital download and a new single, "Cruel Society" b/w "The Sixth Era.". In 2012 Broude released the full-length "NREM" which featured a collaboration with Australian artist MaCu. An art rock-influenced EP, " Il Sesso Che Uccide" followed. In 2013 Broude appeared in the Eat Skull music video "How Do I Know When to Say Goodnight".
