    Meredith Brooks is a Grammy nominated American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born and raised in Oregon, she became fascinated with music as a child, eventually discover blues, R&B and classic rock as a teenager. She learned how to play guitar and began writing songs as a teen. She continued to play and write in her twenties, eventually signing a contract with Capitol Records and releasing her debut, Blurring the Edges, in the spring of 1997. The first single taken off from the album "Bitch" was a replication of Alanis Morrissette's style, released in May 1997, the single quickly became a smash hit on the radio as well US chart reaching the #2 position on Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album also received critical acclaim and went on to sell a million copies, subsequently receiving 'Platinum' certification. Her second single "What Would Happen" was near top-40 hit on Hot 100 and was also a success on US radio chart where it reached the top-10.

    The success of her hit debut single helped Brooks earning several award nomination including her first Grammy award nomination in 1998 for Best Rock Vocal Performance - Female and Best Rock Song (songwriting with Shelly Peiken) ("Bitch"). Also receiving an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Female Video and Best New Artist.

    Brooks followed her debut with the release of her second album in 1999 titled "Deconstruction." To promote the album she toured in Europe but the album couldn't measure up the success her debut album had received and wasn't able to produce substantial hit singles. Therefore her debut single Bitch is often referred as one-hit wonder.

    Three years later, Brooks reshaped her adult-contemporary sound for her third studio album "Bad Bad One. ' She also co-produced actress/singer Jennifer Love Hewitt's third album "BareNaked."
    In the year 2004 she Re-release her third album "Bad Bad One" with the new album titled "Shine" under her own record label. In the same year with her second marriage she gave birth to a baby boy.
