AboutMike Johnson, Country Music's No.1 Black Yodeler, began performing in the mid-1960s and did his first Nashville Recording session in 1981 at Globe Recording Studio. A year later he went over to Champ Recording Studio where he also was mentored by Jim Stanton, founder of Rich-R-Tone Records, and recorded there until Jim's untimely death in 1989.

Johnson has since written over 1200, including over 150 yodeling songs, and has over 40 releases, beginning with a 45rpm in 1981. He has performed across the US was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame by the National Traditional Country Music Association on 1 September 2002. In 2007 the Library of Congress Recorded Sound Reference Center acquired 114 of his yodeling songs and related material, several songbooks a few years later, and for its Performing Arts Reading Room collection, in January 2013 "I Just Wanted To Be A Songwriter, a Mike Johnson Music Anthology" a 390 visual presentation of nearly everything from 1981 to 2012 that has ever been written, published, recorded and distributed by, and about Mike Johnson and his music.

Around June 2012 Mike hired talented multi-instrumentalist James Adelsberger as a studio engineer. Mike Johnson's 2-song CD single "Livin; Lost Love On the Jukebox Again" was released in August 2012. Shortly afterwards Mike signed him to the label as an artist and in November 2012 released James' 2-song CD single "Back Home Again" was released. They immediately began working on a couple of albums and in the interim James became a BMI member, was promoted to label co-producer, a James Adelsberger sheet music folio of Mike's song "Anybody Here Love a Nut?" was published, and James own J.A. Music
Publishing was created under the umbrella of Mike's MAJJ Music Group.

On 15 November 2014, the label's 49th and 50th CDs were released. James' 13-song "Old Time Country Songs Are They Really Dead and Gone?" and Mike's "Doggone It I've Written a Sad Song Again." Both do two duets on each others albums, including a yodeling song. James' also includes one of his own songs and a co-written song with Mike Johnson.

On 4 December 2014, You and Me Records [sister label] released the 2-song CD single "SideKicks Christmas Special" featuring Mike and James on a couple of Mike's humorous Christmasey tunes "Ho! Ho! Ho!" and "Put Out the Fire In the Fireplace!"
