About No Named Heathens were an american alternative and progressive metal group. The band formed in 1989 in Chicago, Illinois, by singer/guitarist Richard Walls, bassist Mike Senn, and drummer James Portsman. They became a local underground favorite. Amidst the success of alternative bands in the early 1990's, the band was signed to major label Elektra Records. In 1993 they released their full length debut album, Heretic. After gaining a small underground following, the band set to work on their next album. In 1995, they released Planet of the Deranged. The album debuted at #172 in the US, and had minor hits with "Hungry for Blood" and "Cumulative", but failed to sell well. Shortly after the release, Mike Senn left the band. Replacing him was Paul Ivankis. In 1997, the band began work on their 3rd album, ...And the War Goes On, but the album never saw release after being dropped from Elektra Records. The album has since been available for free downloads on the band's website. Paul Ivankis left the band in late 1997 and was replaced by Adam Guire. In 1998, the band signed with independent label Two Ton Records, and released their final album, zyxwvut. The band split up in 1999 among inner conflict.
