OBIE TRICE - real name, no gimmicks. One sentence, But it really says it all. Rapping under his government name, Obie Trice, is the real deal, no frills, no filler. Just skills and personality.

Obie, whose career jumped off in the same Detroit neighborhoods and underground scene that had birthed Eminem, was quick to keep his attention once they met. "I'm basically a real laid back type of dude," says Trice of his first meeting with Em, "But I'm really about my music, so we got along great from the jump." Em was so impressed with Obie's work ethic, and felt so strongly that he fit the Shady roster, that he rushed production on a Obie freestyle skit which was added to D-12's double platinum '01 Debut 'Devil's Night.'

Working with legendary producers like Timbaland and Dr. Dre, and the Shady one himself, Obie quickly knocked out a slew of tracks. Obie's offbeat but respectable rhyme style was a perfect fit for Em's curious, but nonetheless g'd up beat selection. "Once me and Em really got into the studio together," says Trice, "It just became clear that we should do most of the record together."

Obie Trice's 'Cheers' promises exactly the same thing as his name: No gimmicks! Recognize.

On April 22, 2010, "Rap Basement" reported that Obie Trice has announced that he would be launching his own independent music label, Black Market Entertainment, on May 7. The label would be owned by Universal. An official statement from Trice, in-which Rap Basement received, confirmed "The focus of Black Market Entertainment is to create quality employment opportunities in the entertainment industry for Metro-Detroiters. This will be an organization with profound community presence that will embrace and inspire the masses. The vision of Black Market Entertainment is to continually bring authentic Detroit Urban Hip Hop Culture to the forefront of the music industry." On May 4, Trice confirmed that Eminem would be a featured guest artist in his upcoming album, "Bottoms Up."

On August 24, 2010, Trice released a new street single, "My Time 2011," from Bottoms Up via myspace; the track is produced by Geno XO. The music video was released on March 22, 2011; footage for the video was filmed at the Black Market Ent. Launch Party.

On September 2, 2010, Trice announced that he would be hosting "The Black & White" concert after party, following the Eminem & Jay-Z Show at Comerica Park (held the same night), at the Goodnight Gracie's; the party goes from 9pm to 2am.

On April 5, 2011, another street single from Trice was released, called "Learn to Love." Although some of the lyrics were changed, it was just a remixed version of his song titled "Haters" from his "Bar Shots" mixtape.

On April 13, Trice released a music video for his song "Keep me/Love me."

On August 2, 2011, Obie Trice tweeted "OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE FOR "BOTTOMS UP" 10-25-11", which confirmed the release date for the album.

The first official single from Bottoms Up, "Battle Cry" featuring Adrian Rezza, produced by Lucas Rezza was released on iTunes on August 23, 2011.

Obie Trice released his tracklist and moved the album to April 3 2012. On March 13 2012 Obie released a mixtape called Watch The Chrome. It is hosted by DJ Whoo Kid.

Overall great album, alot of great production and strong beats but not enough energy at some points.
Also, some of the guest stars weren't strong enough for his 3rd album but Eminems verse and hook on Richard made up for it.
I liked the intro produced by Dr. Dre as well, that got the album off to an exciting start and I was satisfied the whole way through.

Shady looking forward to seeing if Eminem's next album will be back to good old shady, or a new one...
Love all the verses of this song and the hook is clever and catchy, plus a great bouncy beat. One of my favorites from the new album

This track is nice, but, there are still a whole lot of better tracks in the album... I rarely skip a track... This album is Obie's masterpiece... Great, man

Awesome song. I don't know why this one is #800-something when Smack That is #4 or whatnot.

Obie's best song? Hmm, not sure about that. Remember Go To Sleep with Eminem, Obie and DMX?

It's tight though. I really like Akon's voice.
