Pascal Michel Obispo is a French bassist, guitarist & singer-songwriter, born on January 8, 1965 in Bergerac (Dordogne), France. His father Max Obispo had been a football player in Bordeaux. As a child, Pascal wanted to become a basketball player, but his parents divorced & he followed his mother in Rennes. There, he discovered a passion for music. In 1988, he was the bassist of his first band Senso, recorded a 7" & signed to EMI. In 1990, he released his debut album Le Long Du Fleuve. In 1992, his second album Plus Que Tout Au Monde was an instant success, like the title-song.
He went on tour the following year. In 1994, he released his third album Un Jour Comme Aujourd'Hui : 400,000 albums sold, a tour in 60 high schools & Céline Dion's supporting act, Pascal became a great artist. Late 1996, Superflu was a success with 1 million albums sold. He did many projects at the same time.
In 1999, he started working with film director Élie Chouraqui on the musical "Les Dix Commandements". The same year, he married model Isabelle Funaro & in October 2000, their son Sean was born. Pascal also got involved with Line Renaud in a project against AIDS, with the album Ensemble recorded with 100 artists. In January 2001, he received a NRJ Music Award for "Male Artist". In 2002, he reunited 41 countries on the project "Love United" with football stars against AIDS.
In 2003, Pascal came back on stage with a concept single, "Fan", on which he showed admiration for Michel Polnareff. The second single was about the new generation hero, Zinedine Zidane. In March 2004, the double album Fan contained a studio album & a live album. 2 years after, he released the album Les Fleurs Du Bien, with a great production on songs like "Rosa" & "Sur La Voix Ferré". Pascal is one of the most talented songwriters in French music.
