AboutThey briefly changed their name to Macabre, but changed name back to Pentagram after their first single in 1972. The band was known as Death Row in the early 1980s.
Along with Saint Vitus, Trouble, and Witchfinder General, Pentagram is considered one of the first true doom metal bands, influenced by Black Sabbath.
Pentagram was quite prolific in the underground scene of the 1970s, producing many demos and rehearsal tapes, but did not release their first album until 14 years after forming.
Throughout the band's history, vocalist Bobby Liebling is the only constant member.
