AboutWhen you hear Rita Redshoes's voice for the first time, you become instantly surprised. With her red shoes on, she can be magical and daring at the same time: "Golden Era", her debut album, is finally out. The first song she gave us, was the sweet "Dream on Girl", one of the chosen songs to take part in a new comers album ("Novos Talentos – FNAC 2007"), and quickly became it's single. The song, which started immediately to play on the radios, was named song of the year by one of the Portuguese radios, and the media recognized her talent. Rita Redshoes started her connection with the music in 1996, at her high school theatre group. Given that she was too shy to perform as an actress, she joined the soundtrack band, playing drums. On the next year, she gathered with some friends and formed Atomic Bees, recording in 2000 "love.noises.and.kisses", their first and only album, which they presented through out the country. In 1999, Rita Redshoes is one of the finalists of a "young creators" contest, playing bass in Rebel Red Dog project. In the same year, she starts to develop what later would become her actual project, playing solo the piano in Photographs. In 2003, she's invited to play with David Fonseca, one of the portuguese most talented musicians, and shared with him the song "Hold Still", the third single of "Our Hearts Will Beat As One", his second solo album. Last December, she presented "Hey Tom", one of her pearls and the first single of her debut album: "Golden Era". With Filipe Cunha Monteiro on the guitars; Nuno Simões on the bass and double-bass; and with Sérgio Nascimento on the drums and percussion, Rita Redshoes has made herself all the composition, the piano, synths and some of the guitars. The production was divided between Nelson Carvalho and Rita Redshoes. "Golden Era" has 13 songs: the already known - "Dream on Girl" and "Hey Tom" – "To start...", "The Beginning Song", "Choose Love", "Oh My Mr. Blue", "Golden Era I", "Once I Found You", "Blue Bird On A Sunny Day", "Minimal Sounds", "Your Waltz", "Love, What Is It?" and also "Love Is, Love You". Now Rita Redshoes has been presenting it live in small theatres, showing her music and talent to sold out venues. Don't miss the chance to see it!
