AboutIf one of the bandmembers go it's over
In other words: If one member leaves the band, the entire band would stop! That's what the members of Seigmen swore each other in the beginning of the band's history in 1989. When Seigmen started their career no one thought that this oath would become reality ten years later.
Seigmen consisted of 5 guys: Alex (vocals), Kim (bass, vocals), Marius and Sverre (guitars) and Noralf (drums). Their songs were atmospheric, partial melancholic - but very powerful! Compared to Zeromancer, the band Alex, Kim, Noralf and Erik (programming) started after the end of Seigmen, you may see that these two bands are two different worlds. It's impossible to find similarities except those 4 ex-Seigmen. The style of Seigmen's music was the style of Marius and Sverre.
Why did Seigmen split up? Alex: "In fall '98 Sverre, one of the guitarists, said to do it temporarily and that he didn't have the extra push anymore, which he would need in order to step in front of the audience. Sverre had said stuff like that many times before and had forgotten it the next day, but this time he was serious. Marius took the occasion to leave the band, too. Both of them had children, couldn't go on tour that often anymore, were in need of a regular income - all these practical things."
In the ten years of recording and playing Seigmen created 8 albums, 9 singles and 3 rare tracks. They were really popular, especially in Norway, their origin-country, and built up a really huge fan-community there, which even grew across the borders and also hit some parts of the rest of Europe, i.e. Germany. Their concerts were always well visited and on their final tour, made to say good-bye to the fans, all concerts were sold-out.
