In a time where integrity, sincerity and a true sense of realism has been sacrificed for the sake of marketable "product," Cleveland, Ohio's Shenoah have set out on a mission to bring music back to the level it once was, an extension of themselves, as well an artistic expression of their thoughts, feelings, moods and all around personality.

Formed in the summer of 2003 by Jason Hager, co-founder/former guitarist of Cleveland's Chimaira (Roadrunner Records) Shenoah is the product of years of internal torment, constant let downs and a lifetime of questioning ones own self worth. Named after Hager's Step-daughter's middle name, Hager wanted to choose a name that had deep personal meaning to him.

The word Shenoah also means "white dove." How does this relate to the mindset of the band? "The dove is a symbol of peace, something that everyone strives for. Whether peace within themselves, or peace amongst their fellow man, we all want it, but ultimately we find that true peace is never found."

After months of writing by himself Hager first enlisted the talent and ferocity of bassist Ben Hollowell of Cleveland's Ringworm (Victory Records). After years of friendship, Hollowell was Hager's first and only choice to fill the slot. After writing with a handful of musicians, Hager and Hollowell realized they needed to find the right musicians to achieve the vision originally laid out, but was not being reached. Little did they know, the missing elements were right under their noses.

One night while hanging with friends Erase The Gray (Republic/Universal Records) Hager played instrumental tracks to two songs he had written. ETG's vocalist Jon Sayre, keyboardist/programmer Jeff Butchko and guitarist Vincent DiFranco were instantly hooked. After internal frustrations with the direction of their own band, both musically and personally Sayre called Hager and the three guys were instantly accepted into the Shenoah family. One final piece to the puzzle was still missing and it was found in Matt Danko, long time friend and drummer for such Cleveland acts as Optimus Prime and A Side Of Greens.

Just as things started to seem perfect, things just weren't right within. Although not an easy decision to make, Shenoah decided to part ways with Sayre and bring in Hager's long time friend Rob Montague (Acolderyear/Mad At Gravity), who was actually Shenoah's originally intended singer, but was living out of state at the time. Rob's voice ads a whole new dimension to the music, as well as the edge and conviction it was missing.

Shenoah has become what been had been dreamt up long before it's conception, 6 guys from different backgrounds functioning as one solid unit with the same goal, to create something of themselves that is as real as they are on, and their own terms, to pour their insides out for the world to view whether the critics deem it worthy or not, to put sound to the darkest side of human emotion and to let the world know that they are not alone.

Within a short time, Shenoah has gained the respect of many bands and shared billing with such acts as Flaw, Mushroomhead, Tantric and many others, as well as having air play on many college, Internet and mainstream radio stations.. As Shenoah's fanbase and media attention keeps growing at an impressive rate, they use this as fuel to push further as opposed to taking time to cool down, sit back and soak in any means of glory.

Shenoah are driven to take this to it's highest possible level, and once that is reached, to push on even further, to put a brand new scar on the face of the industry, as well as the world, soon everyone who listens will agree that this is the "Age Of The White Dove!"
