AboutSophie and Kia met when they were both members of the cast of 'The
Saddle Club', a television show about young girls and their horses that
became a worldwide tween sensation and generated a successful series
of CDs in Australia, including an amazing eight Top 40 singles and 3 Gold
albums.

Sophie played one of the leads in the show and was therefore strongly
represented on The Saddle Club CDs. Kia played one of the secondary
roles but nevertheless did manage an album's worth of performances
over the series of CDs.

Sophie and Kia got on like a house on fire from the start and become more
like sisters than friends. It was only natural therefore that the two would
eventually want to work together on their own project and so in the
first days of 2005 Sophie and Kia started work on a new album-one that
they wanted to be a major step forward from what they had previously
recorded.

The debut single for the pair, "Planet Tokyo", is a firestorm of guitars and
harmonies sure to rock Australia's socks off. The brilliant video for
"Planet Tokyo" was directed by ARIA Award winning director Bart Borghesi
and Sophie & Kia are embarking upon a month of live appearances to
promote the single.

The follow-up single, "He's Everything", was a foot-stomping, hand clapping
fizzpop bottle of energy that had fans launching themselves into air guitar
heaven at the series of live shows that followed.

Not content to simply repeat the same safe promotional campaign of
shopping centres, Sophie & Kia decided the time was right to form their
own band. They enlisted the help of Nick Hardcastle and Lindsey Rhimes
from fellow Wasabi-pop act Curfew who brought on board Simon Shapiro.
Tour manager Danielle Johnston suggested guitarist Corinne Gibbons and
drummer Jackie Barnes. The band was initially dubbed "The Existiential
Thinkers" by Wasabi-pop label boss, David Roy Williams, but later renamed
themselves "CurSAK".

A special album of acoustic songs was released for the tour and could only
be bought at shows (That alubum, "Raw Beauty" is now available for
purchase from Sophie and Kia's website only). Some of the songs from
"Raw Beauty" were played as part of a short set at the start of each live
show but the main set was full on rock. As well as songs from the singles,
Sophie and Kia previewed tunes from the forthcoming album.

"Spin" is that album. Released on Oct. 3rd, 2005, "Spin" starts a whole
new story for Sophie and Kia.

Sophie, having already tried her hand at songwriting ("What I Believe"
from "Hello World" was co-written with her father), had suggested that
both she and Kia should not only choose the songs they recorded but
should also contribute a number of their own songs to the project. For two
young women who readily admit to limited musical instrumental abilities
and no real songwriting experience, the duo have managed to write and
co-write over half of the tracks on their new album.

And what an album it is! "Spin" features 15 tracks of pure pop, dance &
rock exuberance. As well as the singles "Planet Tokyo" and "He's
Everything" there are another 13 slices of teen emotion set to some of the
best music you'll hear all year.
