"STRANGEWAYS is a Glasgow AOR act originally known as CHINA WHITE. The Kevin Elson produced debut album featured original vocalist Tony Liddell. His position was taken after its release by American TERRY BROCK, ex-STEVE MORSE BAND, an individual who had made something of a career for himself out of contributing backing vocals to a large number of American AOR artists by the likes of KANSAS, JOHNNY VAN ZANT and LE ROUX. Meantime, Liddell would forge an ill fated union with erstwhile TYGERS OF PAN TANG guitarist Rob Weir entitled SERGEANT.

STRANGEWAYS were originally signed to the Canadian label Bonaire, a company with connections to SAGA, before a deal was later struck with RCA for a major push on both the 'Native Sons' and 'Walk In Fire' albums. STRANGEWAYS supported EUROPE in Britain during 1987 in order to push the 'Native Sons' record although after 'Walk In Fire' surfaced in 1989 Brock came close to securing the vocal position in DEEP PURPLE during late 1989.

Brock's eventual departure from the ranks STRANGEWAYS took a few years to regroup, ultimately opting for guitarist Ian Stewart to take over vocal chores on the fourth album 'And The Horse', a record released through the band's management company. The entire back catalogue was released in late 1997/early 1998.
TERRY BROCK turned up in 2000 fronting AOR supergroup THE SIGN for their debut 'Signs Of Life' album. He would also issue his own solo effort 'Back To Eden'.

Original frontman Tony Liddell would make a belated union with his former SERGEANT colleague Robb Weir in 2001 fronting the reformed TYGERS OF PAN TANG. Liddell would also put his energies into a 2001 Z Records project LIDDELL, RUSH, THRALL, a union which found the frontman in alliance with Billy Rush of SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY & THE ASBURY DUKES and renowned guitarist Pat Thrall of ASIA, MEATLOAF, PAT TRAVERS and HUGHES/THRALL."
