    Biography

Taylor Monroe was born in Ithaca, New York on May 2nd, 1995. At an early age Taylor got involved with music; his dad, Shawn Monroe, started teaching him guitar at a very early age. Taylor began getting serious about playing guitar at age 10 when his parents bought him his first electric guitar for his birthday and signed him up for lessons at the Brass Bell music store in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. He took lessons for three years, but stopped when he was informed that he and his family were moving to Texas as soon as their house sold. Soon enough the house was sold and they were packed up and on the road. That summer was pivotal for Taylor's music career, it was during that summer that he made the change from electric guitar to acoustic, really focused on progressing his skill by playing for minimally five hours a day, and also began writing songs for the first time. Taylor had a difficult time with accepting the move and a lot of his songs stem from the emotions he felt during this time. Soon after writing his first song, Heart in the Rain, his parents bought him a 16 track home recording device, which he used to record and release Heart in the Rain onto YouTube at age 14. Not too long after its release, Taylor got contacted by Sean Crossey, the owner of a promotional record label in England, who wanted to release Heart in the Rain on his 33rd volume promo album. Taylor turned down the offer because he wanted to re-record it at a professional studio before releasing it on such a substantial level. So that next year he re-recorded his song at Nexus Studios. After he released the newly recorded single, he got contacted by Sherry Sabine saying that she wanted to debut his song on a national online radio show called The Indie Garage. It debuted and received multiple requests to be played more by the listeners, so it got put into regular rotation. Aside from a few other labels being interested and a small time movie producer putting it on a list for possible soundtrack songs, Taylor has just been writing new songs and practicing every day. He released two new songs this last year, he is currently 18 years old.
