The Kung Fu Girls, a duo consisting of Mia (17) and Ava (18) Koo; sisters hailing from Long Island, New York. With Mia on lead vocals and guitar, and Ava on vocals, lead guitar and keyboards, these sisters produce an Indie sound that borders on Powerpop and Rock. Not just a fresh new band, the Kung Fu Girls have a list of gigs under their belts, as they've played at venues such as The Viper Room in California to The Knitting Factory in New York. Mia and Ava have appeared on the front page of PureVolume magazine five times, getting more airplay than more well-known bands such as Fall Out Boy, Hello Goodbye, Underoath, Panic! At the Disco - just to cite a few. The Kung Fu Girls have their own full length record as well, titled "Thinking Of You", which has been released by Shining Star Records, showing all their critics what it really means to be part of the Kung Fu duo!

Mia and Ava Koo have both graduated from Walt Whitman High School. Both agree that music is definitely their passion, but Ava enjoys gardening and cooking during her free time. On the other hand, Mia enjoys writing music with other artists, like Tom Higgenson, from the band, "Plain White T's".

Both the girls are extremely gifted, academically and musically. Ava studies existentialism and ethics in Sienna College. Mia and Ava have also been playing the violin for eight years.
