The Saddle Club was a tv show based on the popular book series by
Bonnie Bryant. The first season was filmed in the early part of the 21st
century and was released in 2002. The producer of the show had the idea
for the three girls that played Carole (Keenan MacWilliam), Stevie (Sophie
Bennett) and Lisa (Lara Marshall) to sing the Hello World song for the end
credits of the show. What a great idea it was! The song launched a singing
career for the girls and stayed on the Australian top 100 chart for nearly
a year. The girls would again revisit the chart within the top 20 with the
songs Hey Hey What You Say, Boogie Oogie Oogie, L.I.F.E., Wonderland
and Undercover Movers And Shakers. Heli Simpson (who plays Veronica)
peaked the highest on the chart with Don't Ask Me (#16) and Ashley and
Melanie (played by Jessica Jacobs and Janelle Corlass-Brown) are the
only thirteen and twelve year old to make a duet that make the top 40
chart with trouble. The girls made 5 albums with three of them golden
and after season 2 in 2003, a season three is in the making and the
girls are expected to release more albums prior to the new series.

When you are eight and Denzel Washington is nice to you on the set and
lets you talk to his wife on his cell phone, you don't forget it! Keenan has
worked with some big names in the world of show buissness, including
Ann Bancroft and Gloria Rueben. She loves the industry but is well aware
of its ups and downs. "You can make a whole bunch of movies in a short
while but then suddenly there is nothing for a year or two, so I think it's
reall important to keep up with school and be serious about your education."
    she says wisely.
Keenan was six, living in Nashville when she was asked to do a
clothing commercial. More modelling led to acting and her credits include
the starring role in 'Must Be Santa', (CNC/Universal Studios MOW) lead
roles in 'Deep in My Heart, (CBS MOW) and 'Best Girl' (Dish Productions).
She appeared in 'The Bone Collector' (Universal Studios) and more recently,
apperaed in a tv movie called 'Get A Clue' (Disney). Before returning to
Australia for 'The Saddle Club', she was host/presenter for a pilot television
    show 'Popular Mechanics For Kids'.
Since the first series, public recognition has grown to sometimes
embarrasing porportions. "I was in the mall one day and a young girl
started screaming out to her friends that I was in 'The Saddle Club' and
she wanted an autograph. That was when I realized people now know me
from television. I also couldn't play in a school softball tournament becouse
everyone was sort of following me around. The recognition is fun at times,
but I don't take it too seriously." Keenan says.
English, drama, visual arts and science are her strong subjects. She
plays guitar and sings, is bi-lingual (English and French), looks after her
two labrador dogs, Savannah and Toby, and, of course, loves horse rding
and is hoping to get her own horse when she returns to Canada.
Keenan was born in Toronto, lived in Africa for four years, moved to
Tennessee, and is now living in Canada.

Using a hairbrush as a pretend microphone, Lara would practice singing
in front of the mirror when she was seven, dreaming about the world of
show business. Her love affair of performing started when she was a four
year old and saw her first stage production. The show was finished but she
refused to leave the theater, sitting transfixed with the magic.
Her experience has been diverse, starting with the lamb in 'Charlottes's
Web', a Kidz for Kidz production, singing and dancing in 'Babes In Toyland'
for People's Playhouse, the coveted role of Young Eponine in 'Les
Miseables', in Cameron Macintosh's 10th anniversary presentation and most
recently performances with The Australian Children's Performing Company.
She has played the lead in numerous school productions, including
Phantom of the Tollbooth, and her favorite subjects are, not surprisingly,
    drama and English.
Sport plays a big part in Lara's life. As well as horse riding, she has
a bronze medallion at surf life saving, is good at cross country as well as
sailing most weekends with her father. She has her own sail boat.

It was quite a family affair when Sophie landed the starring role for 'The
Salem Witch Trials', a tv mini series for NBC. Brother Zachary, (22) and
sister Marion (26) were also cast with leading roles. The series gave Sophie
a chance to work with some internationally acclaimed actors, including
Sir Peter Ustinov, Alan Bates, Shirley Mclaine and Kirsty Alley.
As she has been in the buisness all her life, starting with her first
commercial as a baby, Sophie is practically throwing herself wholly into a
role, then putting aside and turning it off once the scene is done. "Acting
is something I really love in my family, it's the norm. I have a brother
who is a director, a brother and sister who are actors, and my mom was
an actor and is now a writer." Sophie says.
Sophie's movie and television experience includes roles in 'What Katy
Did' (MOW for Catylist), 'The Unicorn's Secret' (NBC miniseries), 'Code
Name: Eternity' (Warner Bros./protocol), 'Universal Soldier' (MOW/Catylist)
'Real Kids, Real Adventures' (Discovery Channel), 'Goosebumps'
(Scholastic/Protocol), 'The Mighty' (Miramax), 'The Clinic' (MOW/Showtime)
'Mother's Day' (ABC/MOW) and 'Sneaking' (Ryerson Student Film). In
Theater she has appeared in Souled Out for Kids In Action.
Sophie has a wide and diverse range of interests. She loves dancing,
both modern and ballet, music, playing piano, violin and guitar, but she is
passionate about clothes and dress design. "I would like to learn about
fashion design. I have a dog named Maddie and was so sad at leaving her
when I came out to Australia, and of course, horse riding is my other love."
    She says.
Because of her features and style, Sophie has done alot of period work
and her roles are often off-centere. Recently, she had a guest lead in the
series Oddysy 5, which stars Robocop Peter Weller.
She is currently making and writing an album with her friend Kia Luby
and it will come out in August.
