ABOUT THE BAND:
In a music industry of quickly passing fads, recycled decades, and the dime-a-dozen rock band, This Providence is anything but the preceding. They have been dubbed one of Seattle's rising artists, which hardly says enough about this young quartet. With their unique blend of indie-rock, pop, and emo, their music will carry them a long way. After signing with RocketStar Recordings in the spring of 2004, This Providence went into the studio to record their debut full length entitled Our Worlds Divorce along side producer Casey Bates (Gatsbys American Dream, Daphne Loves Derby). This record is the perfect blend of infectious hooks and melodies, and intelligent, unique song writing.
The members of This Providence came together in the summer of 2003 and shortly after recorded, co-produced, and self-released an EP (now out of print). While still in high school, they gathered a strong following locally, as well as some label attention. Now out of school, and with the support of RocketStar Recording, they have already begun to pave their way in the crowded music scene of today. Touring, constant online and street promotion has netted them a large underground following all over.
"They're very creative and technical but have a great sense of pop also." Says friend and fellow independent band member Bobby Darling from Gatsbys American Dream in a recent interview.
Now centered on touring full-time, This Providence is reaching out to audiences everywhere, proving that they're willing to work hard for their childhood dreams. Whether you're a pop enthusiast, or searching for something more than the cookie-cutter rock bands out today, This Providence is the band to watch out for.
