    1You're No Angel (EP) [2004]

Late on a chilly January night in 2004, five boys from various towns throughout Maryland prepared to introduce their newly completed band, Underscore, to the world for the very first time. With their powerful, heartfelt lyrics accompanied by driving guitars, and a mix of beats, Matt Flyzik [vocals], Jason Tipton [bass], Cali QUIT! but LOVES Ryan Sherril [guitar] and Paul Martinez [drums] stole the show with their incredibly tight musicianship and supercharged, energetic stage presence. The show was a first for Flyzik, who had just joined Underscore after leaving his previous band. It took two years of name switching, line up changes, and various other adjustments for Underscore to finally settle down and feel complete. Formerly, Underscore was a 4 piece band. They put out two EP's and toured throughout the East Coast spreading the name, yet the band knew something was missing. It was the addition of a singer that completed the lineup. Underscore's latest EP was released independently in July of 2003. The demo blended all the elements of pop punk, emo, and hardcore, which created a sound that can only be defined by Underscore. The distinct sound that is Underscore is a result of talent, hard work, strong musicianship, and influence from bands such as Saves the Day, The Movielife, Taking Back Sunday, and New Found Glory. Since the completion of the lineup, the boys of Underscore have been playing shows up and down the East Coast gracing the stages of such venues as The 930 Club(Washington, DC), The Recher Theatre(Towson, MD), The Nanci Raygun(Richmond, VA), and many, many more; and have played with such talent as Sugarcult, Fall Out Boy, Maxeen, Adelphi, and Stars Hide Fire. The band's highly emotional and lively performances matched up with their powerful songs have resulted in the formation of a strong and growing fan base. Currently, Underscore continue to grow and expand as a band. They are in the studio finishing up with their latest EP, which will be available in April of 2004. All Spring and Summer long they are touring and promoting their name up and down the East Coast, and plan to step foot outside the perimeters of the Coast this summer, when they head out West for the very first time. www.underscorerock.com "There is no story book ending.
