AboutAlain Bashung (real name Alain Claude Baschung) was a French singer, guitarist, harmonicist & actor, born on December 1, 1947 in Paris, France & dead on March 14, 2009 in Paris. Abandoned by his father, he grew up in Wingersheim, learnt harmonica & performed in a school choir. At 12, he went back to Paris & discovered rock, imitating American singers & founding his first band. After lots of 7", concerts & collaborations, success didn't come. In 1979, he released his album Roulette Russe, including his first hit "Gaby Oh Gaby".
Alain's rock came on & in 1981, the follow-up Pizza included his second hit "Vertige De L'Amour", loved by his fans. After that, he left commercial music & did surprising albums, from Play Blessures in 1982 to Fantaisie Militaire in 1998, Alain became a great French artist. In 2001, he recorded "Cantique Des Cantiques" with his wife Chloé Mons & in 2008, he released Bleu Pétrole. In February 2009, he received 3 Victoires De La Musique : "Best Album" for Bleu Pétrole, "Best Tour" & "Male Artist".
