AboutLarissa de Macedo Machado (born March 30, 1993), known by her stage name Anitta, is a Brazilian recording artist, songwriter, and dancer. Anitta garnered international fame in 2013 after releasing her debut single "Show Das Poderosas". In November 2014, she performed at the Latin Grammy Award, becoming the youngest Brazilian singer to perform at the awards.

She signed a contract with Warner Music Brasil in January 2013 and released her debut studio album. In July of the same year, she received a triple gold record certificate and platinum certification by ABPD. The first single from the album, "Show das Poderosas", became a hit and reached the top of the Brazilian Billboard charts. That music video has been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube, with less than 2 years in the website.

Anitta was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on March 30, 1993. She is the youngest daughter of Míriam Macedo and Mauro Machado; her brother Renan Machado serves as her artistic producer. Her father has divorced her mother when Anitta was still young.

She began her career at 8 years old singing in the choir of Santa Luzia Church in Rio de Janeiro by the intervention of her maternal grandparents. At 11 years of age, with the allowance she received, she decided to take an English course. She later received dance lessons provided by the teacher of her mother. At 16, she finished a course in administration at a technical school in Rio de Janeiro. A year later, she decided to pursue an artistic career. That same year, she was the winner of the "Revelation of Music" award, an important prize in Brazil.

Anitta's stage name was inspired by the character Anita, from Rede Globo TV series Presença de Anita. She thought the character "amazing" because "[she] could be sexy without being vulgar, girl and woman at the same time." Following the advice of a musical producer, she added an extra "t" to the name.

2012–13: First album and international breakthrough
In January 2013, due to the success of the song Meiga e Abusada in Rio de Janeiro, Anitta signed a recording contract with Warner Music Group.

The song "Meiga e Abusada" became among the most requested songs on Brazilian radio stations in early 2013, The music video of the song was recorded Las Vegas, United States, and directed by American Blake Farber, who has worked with Beyoncé Knowles.

The first studio album titled Anitta (Bonus Track Version), was released on 6 June 2013. The music video for the song "Show Das Poderosas" received considerable attention in the media in May, 2013. The video became the most watched one on YouTube in Brazil, surpassing 85 million views. Also helping to music, which remained for weeks at the top of the best selling in the digital store iTunes Brazil, and still making it the third most played song on radio in the country in the year 2013. With the music and the video clip of Show das Poderosas, the singer became internationally known, the song also held the top #10 of the music charts in Spain, Portugal and Argentina.

The first studio album was entitled Anitta and had its launch on June 6, 2013, containing 15 songs.

2014–15: Meu Lugar and Ritmo Perfeito
Sales to the tickets for the recording of their first live album went on sale in November 2013. The presentation took place in Rio de Janeiro on February 15, 2014 and was attended by about ten thousand people.

The song "Blá Blá Blá" was released as a single from the album on March 23, 2014, the song has surpassed expectations of producers Anitta, and remained for weeks at #1 in Billboard Brasil. The album came to be titled Fantastic World Anitta but was renamed to Meu Lugar with the release of the song "Quem Sabe" on iTunes.

The album had its launch on June 4, 2014, was released along with her second studio album, Ritmo Perfeito, that had its cover art released in May 2014.

2015-present: Bang!
On June 15, 2015 she announced the title of the first single of her third studio album, "Deixa Ele Sofrer", which was released on July 16 and reached the top of the iTunes Brazil. The song made Anitta the first Brazilian singer to occupy the top of Spotify Brazil. The new Anitta disc was elected by the Billboard Brasil as one of the most anticipated of the year. With great repercussion in Spain and Portugal, the first single "Deixa Ele Sofrer" got a Spanish version. The music is one of the subjects most talked about in Spain and Portugal. The singer gave her third studio album titled "Bang!", Whose cover is signed by the same designer of American singer Madonna, Giovanni Bianco.
