AboutBenjamin "Benny" Tipene (born 19 April 1990) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and guitarist from Palmerston North who placed third in the first New Zealand series of The X Factor in 2013. Competing in the Boys category, he was mentored in the series by Ruby Frost. Due to popular demand, Sony Music released his debut single "Walking On Water" on 8 August 2013 which debuted at #2 on the NZ Top 40 Singles Chart.
