Best known for composing, and often performing, his many pop hits from 1962-70, mainly with lyrics written by Hal David. He also worked briefly with Hal's brother Mack David and his ex-wife Carole Bayer Sager. Inducted into Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1971.
He has been married to actress Paula Stewart (1953-1958), then to actress Angie Dickinson (1965-1980), then to songwriter Carole Bayer Sager (1982-1991), and then to Jane Hansen (since 1993).
Death: On February 8, 2023, Burt died in his sleep at the age 94 in his home in Los Angeles, California, U.S.
