In 2012, Austin was forced to drop out from Lady Bird Johnson High School due to his growing fame.
He became popular a year prior when YouTube videos of him singing went viral. He translated his online success to a massive music career — his debut single, 11:11 which was released in February 2012. He was dubbed as "the next Justin Bieber".
His famous releases include: Say Somethin', Say You're Just A Friend featuring Flo Rida, What About Love and MMM Yeah featuring Pitbull.
In 2013, Austin was chosen as one of the opening acts for Taylor Swift on her "Red" tour, as well as for Bridgit Mendler and Jason Derulo. He also won MTV's Artists to Watch at MTV Video Music Awards that same year for What About Love.
And in 2014, he released his first EP The Secret.
After being dropped by his label, he continues releasing music independently.
