ODisney's Friends for Change was a pro-social "green" initiative through Disney Channel that was introduced in the summer of 2009 and ended in the summer of 2011.
The lead single, Send It On, released on August 11, 2009, was sung by then-Disney Channel stars Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers, helped to promote the project's message aimed for younger audiences - noting it as a good cause. The song peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The second single within the campaign released on February 26, 2010, was Make A Wave, sung by Lovato and Joe Jonas and peaked at #84 on Billboard Hot 100.
We Can Change The World was the last official single, released on June 11, 2011, that was co-written and sung by Bridgit Mendler. And specifically used as the theme for Disney Channel's team program "Disney Friends for Change Games" (replacing the existing "Disney Channel Games").
With its release, Disney donated $250,000 to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. The song was made available for download on the Friends for Change website and on iTunes. All proceeds went to environmental charities, similar to the other songs released for the initiative.
