σχετικά μεChimène Badi is a French singer, born on October 30, 1982 in Melun, France. She grew up in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, near Agen. She has one brother, Karim & one sister, Déborah. Since she was 5, she wanted to become a singer. Her dream was to be in the TV show "L'Ecole Des Fans" !
Years later, as she didn't know how to enter the showbiz, she studied agronomy until "Popstars" casting was launched. She passed the casting in July 2002 & the final would create a band like previous winners, L5. She stayed in the TV show but was eliminated in October 2002 : Valéry Zeitoun, member of the jury, & Philippe Saisse wanted her to make a solo career rather than one with a band.
Chimène recorded her first single with Lara Fabian's composer & producer, Rick Allison. "Entre Nous" was a romantic ballad that showed her powerful & sensitive voice. Her first album, with the same name, came out in March 2003.
After "Popstars", she started her career. She got hits in French charts & her second album Dis-Moi Que Tu M'Aimes has been N°1 in October 2004. The title-track has been composed by Jean-Félix Lalanne & "Retomber Amoureux" has been written by Marc Lavoine.
Chimène became a great artist & filled Paris' Olympia during several nights in 2005, her first live album came out in January 2006. In November 2006, she released her third album, Le Miroir. Recorded between Los Angeles & Paris, it included a duet with Michel Sardou & a song composed by Pascal Obispo.
In May 2010, her fourth album Laisse-Les Dire came out & has been N°4 in French album charts.
