AboutEmma Shapplin (real name Marie-Ange Chapelain) was born on May 19, 1974 in Savigny-Le-Temple, France. At 14, she started lyrical singing. After having performed in a hard rock band, she came back to lyrical singing at 19. Jean-Patrick Capdevielle encouraged Emma & produced her debut album Carmine Meo, released in 1997. The album has been successful in 25 countries, with more than 2 million copies sold.
