TietoaBorn Mohandas Dewese (August 8th, 1962), Kool Moe Dee is an American hip hop MC who was prominent in the late 1970s through the early 1990s. He was one of the first rappers to earn a Grammy Award and the first rapper to perform at the Grammys.
Kool Moe Dee met Special K, DJ Easy Lee, and LA Sunshine in the late 70s and the three joined together to form the influential hip hop group the Treacherous Three (disbanding 1985). Kool Moe Dee then went solo with a self-titled album that ranked 83 on Billboard, and began co-operating with the producer Teddy Riley, contributing greatly to the new jack swing movement.
