Frank Churchill is a soundtrack composer for Disney cartoon shorts and Disney movies, he is best known for songs including "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from the 1933 cartoon "The Three Little Pigs", "I would like to be a bird", "You're nothing but a nothing" from "The Flying Mouse 1934, "Heigh-Ho", "Whistle While You Work", and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Baby Mine" from "Dumbo" 1940 and "Love is a Song" from "Bambi" 1942.

Early Childhood years

Frank Churchill was born in Rumford, Maine, on October 20, 1901.
Later on he took piano lessons and when he was 15 years old, he dropped out of medical studies at UCLA and worked at the silent movie theater as a piano player in Los Angeles and played music for the radio station.

Music career years at the Disney Company

In 1930 Frank decided to work for the Disney Company on music scores for many of the Silly Symphonies cartoons, he make the music "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" for "The Three Little Pigs" 1933 which was a big success among the audience, he later wrote songs for "The Flying Mouse" 1934 including "I would like to be a bird" and "You're nothing but a nothing" which wasn't as successful but it was later included in the "Dumbo" movie DVD.

Then in 1937 Frank wrote the songs for the first Disney cartoon movie ever called "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" 1937 including songs like "I'm Wishing", "One Song", "Whistle While You Work", "Heigh-Ho", "Someday My Prince Will Come". Then the film was released in movie theaters and it was a box office hit and became the greatest movie of all time.

Later on Frank worked with Oliver Wallace and wrote songs for the Disney movie "Dumbo" 1941 including "Baby Mine", he later wrote the songs for the Disney movie "Bambi" 1942 including "Love is a song". the movie was released in movie theaters but it was a box office flop due to World War 2 happening at that time.

Frank worked on songs for the cartoon shorts "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" and the final song for "Peter Pan" "Never smile at a Crocodile" which were delayed because of World War 2, and he would not be alive to see them get made.

Frank Churchill's Death

On May 14, 1942 Frank fell into depression and went to his ranch north of Los Angeles in Castaic and killed himself by shooting at himself with the hand gun. The police arrived and pronounced him dead. He was later buried in Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Frank Churchill's Legacy

After his death his music was used in "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" 1949 and in "Peter Pan" 1953. Today his music can be found in the Disney DVD and Blu-ray "Dumbo" with the 1934 cartoon short "The Flying Mouse" 1934. Also the song "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf" is still sung by Disney fans today. And a music video "Someday my prince will come" is made.
