RólPentatonix was founded by Scott Hoying. His goal was to enter The Sing-Off season 3. He contacted high school friends, Kirstie Maldonado and Mitch Grassi, to join the group. He also found Kevin Olusola and Avi Kaplan to be Pentatonix's Beatboxer and Bass. The quintet went on to win The Sing-Off season 3. They currently have two albums out, PTX Volume 1 and PTXmas. Their Youtube channel is ptxofficial.
