についてJimmy Devlin - or James Devlin (born 1989), better known by his surname, Devlin is a Grime MC from Dagenham, England and is a part of the O.T Crew alongside Dogzilla, Deeperman and Syer Bars. Devlin was born in Dagenham, Greater London and is currently 21 years old. He is also a member of The Movement, which consists of himself, Wretch 32, Scorcher, Ghetts, Lightning, Mercston and DJ Unique.
Devlin was inspired by some other rappers that were around in the UK, and took interest at the age of 13. He started producing music at 15 years old. In February 2010, Devlin signed to major label Island Records/Universal, although there had been reports that five major labels were bidding to sign him prior to this deal. Devlin previously had slots on Flava FM and Rinse FM, and released his debut mixtape "Tales From The Crypt" in 2006. This was followed by another, "The Art Of Rollin". Devlin was named by the BBC in their "Sound Of" list of the most promising music acts for 2010, alongside Ellie Goulding and Giggs. In the Summer of 2010, Devlin released his first single, "Shot Music", which featured the rapper Giggs, but it was said by Devlin himself that it did not count as his first official single.
His debut album, "Bud, Sweat and Beers" was announced and is due for release on October 29, 2010 for digital download and on November 1, 2010 for as a CD single. The first single off the album is "Brainwashed", which was released on August 8, 2010 in the UK and debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number 31, and number 11 on the UK R&B Chart. The second single, "Runaway" was released on October 24th 2010 with Devlin's debut album, "Bud, Sweat and Beers" scheduled to be released in the same week.
