AboutKid British are a British band from Manchester signed to Mercury Records in the United Kingdom. The band is composed of Adio Marchant, James Mayer, Sean Mbaya, and Simeon Mclean.
The band came together when Sean Mbaya met Adio, James, and Simeon then working under the name Manky Movement. They decided to merge and become Kid British and the Manky Movement, later dropping the Manky Movement part to become Kid British.
The band signed to Mercury Records in the summer of 2008. They have been identified as, 'the best new band in Manchester', as cited in The Guardian new band of the day article on July 18 2008.
At a gig in London on March 11 2009 the band were joined on the stage by Lynval Golding of the recently reunited Ska band The Specials. Lynval invited the band to join The Specials as a supporting act during their May 2009 tour, to which the band agreed.
